Veterans Day November 11, 2011

• The 2011 Veterans Day Observance began well in advance of the occasion when Odvar Holm announced the preparations that were underway. 

• The night before Veterans Day a number of residents gathered to recall the era of World War II and its aftermath by viewing the film, The Best Days of Our Lives. 

• The following morning at The Eleventh Minute of the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month of the Eleventh Year of the New Century the residents recalled the orginal Armistice Day of 1918 when the guns fell silent at the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month, ending a time of terrible human carnage.

• Veterans Day 2011 continued later in the day with the showing of a video recalling the events that took place just before and during World War II, a time when many CBTS residents were at the peak of youth.  Many from that generation were called upon to delay the joys of youth to come to defense of the nation they loved and served.
